About GBHEM COS/ACOS Courses

Online: All GBHEM COS/ACOS courses are fully online throughout each 10-week term.

Asynchronous: Most GBHEM COS/ACOS courses are asynchronous with no in-person or online meetings.

Class meetings: A few courses require online class meetings. The meeting dates and times are listed in the course description.

Access: All of the coursework is in Moodle, our online learning platform. Students have access as follows:

  • Upon completion of registration: Access to the syllabus overview and book list.
  • One week before the term begins: Access to the reading assignments for Week 1.
  • First day of the term: Access to the full course.
  • Four to five weeks after the end of the term: Course closes, access ends.

Pace and deadlines: Each week/unit includes assigned readings, one or more recorded videos, and 2-4 learning activities (written assignments, discussion forums, quizzes). Students log in on their own schedule each week to meet the stated deadlines. Learning activities are designed to help students apply their learning to their ministry context.

Policies: Read the full GBHEM COS/ACOS Terms and Policies.

Requirements: Minimum Requirements for Online Learning Using Moodle
